This is probably the last post I'll be making about my trip to Downtown Disney today. The other two are on my Tumblr, but this one's a little more complex, and I'm more comfortable formatting it with Blogger.
I was in World of Disney, and I had started on the opposite end as the Disney Princess merchandise and Bippity Boppity Boutique. From across the section, I see these dolls I haven't seen before (as I've been lax in keeping up with the latest lines.)
All I notice is this line of unusually proportioned dolls. So I go in for a look, and these dolls faces are so expressive that I can't help but start to imagine what they're thinking, and thus my head canon for these dolls was formed.
Rapunzel looks like she's mildly fed up with something, but her proportions are so perfectly calculated for cute that she can't help looking adorable, but she's probably formulating an escape plan, I'd bet.
Ariel and Jasmine just looked so chilled out and awesome next to each other that they're just hanging out being best buds. Jasmine just made and intentionally eyerolling comment, and Ariel's eyes have been frozen mid laughingly rolling her eyes at it.
Belle's kind of just sitting around being adorable with that adorable curl of hair, and a face that says she's thinking about what book to read next- it brings a slight smile to her face, but she's also concentrating in a dreamy way, and that's why she's looking upward a little.
Aurora's pretty neutral here, but clearly off in her own world as her gaze is straight up.
And Snow is pretty much right there in LaLaLand with Aurora.
Merida seems really skeptical of what's going on in the Boutique. She's saying to herself she wouldn't willingly go in there and let them do that to her, she just doesn't quite understand.
And then there were Mulan and Pocahontas.
They both look a little upset to me. Pocahontas I would even describe as downright pouty.
At first, I couldn't figure it out. Why were they sad?
Then I walked over to the large single princess displays of product- including the costumes usually bought as part of the full princess experience of the Boutique. Merida. Cinderella. Jasmine. Rapunzel. Aurora. Ariel. Snow White. Tiana.
Wait a minute, whose missing from this line up? Mulan and Pocahontas! That's why they're so sad!
Aw, girls, it's okay, you're still loved, I promise.
Now that I think about it, either I missed her somewhere, or there was no Tiana in this collection. Could she have been sold out? It's possible if she was the most popular of the line and there were fewer of her, I just looked right over, but I don't remember seeing her at all.
So there you have it, one more strange look into my mind.
